To be fair, the bank credit doesn’t have intrinsic value either as the bank can just make more of it in a database. We just managed to make it progressively harder to generate more bitcoins.

That is, bitcoin’s intrinsic value comes from the difficulty in “printing” more of it — whereas credit has no such value as any person can make more of it in a few seconds.
