It’s ironic how many people are hovering in the comments section offering to build you a website (there was even one guy down there posting bitcoin trading spam) — this is not intended to degrade anyone’s credibility but I’m just pointing out that’s it’s kind of strange considering you just blew money on a bad site theme.

I don’t think you will find a designer and SEO optimizer in one package, because these are two specialized roles. You’re better off finding someone who can design a website that abides by Google’s SEO guidelines (using <section>s and all that) and loads as fast as possible, and then later finding an SEO expert to assist you with keywords.

Because most designers know nothing about SEO.

I’ve had bad luck with making my Wordpress site load faster. It has something to do with Wordpress needing a dozen or two plugins just to be usable, which in turn affects the pagespeed insights and all that.

Elementor makes the site even more bloated, not sure why people are recommending that.

You’re better off finding a designer to make a JS/CSS/HTML based website with no Wordpress inside of you can, because it’s super easy rocketing the pagespeed score on them to the green. Then again, I know some utterly shambolic sites like the Verge with terrible score but still manage to rank well with tons of backlinks.

So in the end it’s mostly about the backlinks, but yeah. Your designer made you a really bad landing page.
