A Preview feature for Twitter

I just had the perfect idea for Twitter. What if we introduced a “preview” button instead of a “post” button in the compose tweet view?

It will show almost exactly the same interface as when you post a tweet. But there is one difference. The preview is only visible to you, and to post it, you have to click on the actual “Post” button that’s next to the tweet.

It’s a brilliant idea because people will stop to look at their tweets, and notice spelling errors and other stuff that they wish they hadn’t tweeted, before the message is actually tweeted.

It will function as something of a one-time-use “edit” button. It is well known that people post stuff online that they instantly regret posting, so this button will give people an opportunity to think before they decide whether they actually want to post something that can’t be edited.
